THE ZONE!

Malarkey is constantly working to make roofs durable, long lasting and faster to install for our partners. It’s because of this commitment that we developed THE ZONE® technology (US Patent numbers 6397546, 614265).

THE ZONE® was created in response to the difficulties installers were experiencing with increasingly popular laminated shingles. The small nailing area found in a majority of laminated shingles lead to poor fastener placement and resulted in improper installations. Due to this incorrect application, many of these improperly installed roofs voided the manufacturer’s warranty, leaving the applicator with the entire liability for the roof.

We created THE ZONE® to produce a larger nailing area which allows an easier install of Malarkey shingles in a fraction of the time it takes with other manufacturer’s laminated shingles. More importantly, you’re able to install the shingles correctly, which protects the roof and your business.

Additionally, THE ZONE® design eliminates the troughing effect often seen on standard laminated shingles. Troughing allows water to run sideways, creating a source for leaks. For further protection, shingles manufactured with THE ZONE® have two rubber modified rain seals to prevent water from blowing up behind the shim. In fact, THE ZONE® is so unique, we’ve received patent protection for it.

Laminated shingles featuring THE ZONE® are currently being produced and shipped in the United States and Canada, and they’re available only from Malarkey.
